What is a driving personality make over?

I have to tell you your guess would have been as good as mine when I first started taking this class. After looking through previous student reports however, I was able to get the jist of what its' all about. Artemio Baxal defines a driving personality make over as simply

a plan of action that uses behavior modification techniques in a series of sequential steps to reduce negative driving behaviors and replaces them with more positive ones, thus making a person a better driver.

Nancee Aki even had a three step process to "driving nirvana," according to her,

The first step to is recognize the problem or fault... The second step is to analyze both internal and external factors that a driver may experience...Lastly, by altering our driving behavior to a more positive, safe and consciences one we take another step forward to becoming a self-actualized person. (leading to a) healthier and happier you.

I don't think I would mind being a happier person caring peace and tranquility while I drive even in the most frustrating circumstances. Sounds great but how do you maintain your beautiful new driving behaviors? Jason Nakasato seemed to have that answer the key being that you must constantly maintain a self-awareness because driving is an automatic behavior you don't even have to think about doing. Essentially a driving personality make over is a complex process involving the monitoring of ones sensory, motor and cognitive functions, and then evolving pre-existing driving repertoires to initiate a positive change. This change is a circulatory system of continually analyzing and improving ones driving process. Now that we know exactly what a driving personality make over is. I am sure that you must see as well as me that it's a lot of work and not easy to maintain.

Although complex, a successful driving personality make over can only be beneficial to ones life by triggering positive emotions while you drive thus, enforcing positive emotions to those sharing the road with you. So be happy, drive happy and take care to work on a driving personality make over of your own today.
