As was noted in Week Five
labreport, awareness of reports on the Inter Net in the media has been
more noticable. These are some entries I got from the "Today Show" for
March 12. The interview was with J. C. Herz, author of the book "
surfing on the Inter Net: A Nethead's Adventure on Line":
Nethead:someone who spends a lot of time on line;
formerly the computer nerd, now a more mainstream type
BRB: be right back
BTW: by the way. I also found this term and the following
one in Fujii's glossary
IHMO: in my humble opinion
LOL: laughing out loud
There were also some interesting symbols, which the author called
Emotioncons, mentioned in the interview:
:-) :sarcasm
;-) :"winkey"
:) :upset; depressed
see Diaz for more on
emoticons.
