This report must have the file name of "report1.html" or "report2.html" "report2.html" (depending on which order it was done--due dates announced in class), and must have the following main heading:
_____ 2) **Summarize what they're talking about in these exchanges. How many separate issues are mentioned and what is said under each? How do you react to each issue? State your thoughts and feelings on each of the issues raised. Consult your class notes and email discussions.
_____ 3) **Search the Web for places where people interact and meet online, including chat rooms, forums, clubs, services, lobbies, conferences, game rooms, Internet cafes--see how many different types you can find. Describe each under its own tagged sub-heading for the Table of Contents. Focus on HOW the people meet, WHAT they do together, and WHAT they seem to get out of it (meaning: WHY they do it).
_____ 4) **How has this research affected you? What new vision do you have of what is human relationship and culture? What are the implications for the future of society and its evolution?
To help you answer these questions, read these five G5 reports and summarize 3 of them with links to the originals (be sure you indicate the G number (Generations) after their names!!)--each with their **tagged sub-headings for the Table of Contents. Do what they say help you answer the questions in this section (4)? Explain.
_____ 5) **Take a look at how other students in your class have done this report (when the drafts are posted). In a separate section with its own tagged sub-title, describe your impressions and reactions. How does their report on the psychology of online virtual relationships compare with yours in
_____ 6) **What are your suggestions for future generations who can study this report and are interested in going further with it? Recommend some directions to take. Review what you have achieved, how far you've taken the topic, and point to the next step.
_____ 7) Add a centered h1 heading, calling the document:
Psychology of Online Virtual Relationships:
xxx
_____ 8) Now type this into the [title] field of your document: First name, Last name, (G8/409b), Virtual Relationships on the Net, xxx Note: The little line next to each number should be checked only when that item is fully completed!
_____ 9) Place a Table of Contents at the top of the document with links to all the tagged sub-titles.
_____ Note: Students often forget this item--but it is required: The first item in the Table of Contents MUST be called Instructions for this Report and it must be a live link to this document, whose address is : ../../leonj/leonpsy8/g8vrel409a.html
_____ 10) Type this into the [title] field: FN, LN, Psychology of Online Virtual Relationships, G8/Spring 1998
_____ 11) Be sure you add a Navigation Table and e-mail button at the bottom of the document.
_____ 12) Using your web browser, check your document screen by screen: no screen should be made of just one paragraph (i.e., no paragraph should exceed one screen full--it's too hard to read that way!)
_____ 13) Spell check your document before uploading!!
_____ 14) Check the visibility of your text: patterned backgrounds are not allowed. Darker colors are not allowed. White bgcolor is always excellent, especially if you vary the font face, color, and size to enhance visibility and emphasis (no blinking text allowed). Remember: your text looks different in different browsers and computers, so you need to experiment and ask others. You may also use graphic enhancers such as color bars, color dots, icons. However, animated icons are a problem if they distract attention from the text. Using the Table tag in html allows easy control over the color of each column and the placement of text on the screen. See this example for how to change the color of fonts. See this student's effective use of varied font faces, colors, and sizes.
_____ 15) Check the way your document loads after it contains everything. How long does it take? Does text appear on the screen while one waits, or is it blank? Slow loads and blank screens are not allowed, so you must choose graphics that are low in memory size!
