Teamreport Week 5
This week I focused on exploring the McKinley Internet Directory. I discovered this link through going to the Directory. The McKinley directory offers different categories to browse e.g. Communication, Humanities & Social Science, Popular Culture & Entertainment etc. When you click on Pop Culture you can access the Multimedia link which will take you to UWI (Under World Industries), a cultural playground. This page did not offer much interesting material to me, though.
"Communication" presented the options Career and Employment with a Communication Scholar directory. This will take you to links to faculty, students, or professionals. I was interested in faculty. This link shows the areas of interest and credentials of many international faculty in the field of communication. I was particularily interested in the homepage of Michael E. Rock, a professor interested in leadership roles and communication.
The information I collected today seemed clear and well organized. It was easy to access the different categories. Furthermore, the content appears useful to me since I am very interested in organizational communication. Again, I am convinced that it is of great value to our society to be able to connect with professionals that are in a field we are interested in. This could give us opportunities to engage in information exchange, and lead to projects relating to others' fields of study.
