The Internet Society is an organization that is concerned with the Internet and its internetworking technologies and applications. I reached the homepage of the Internet Society by going to About the Internet. Different links e.g.Infoservices, and even a link where you can join the society. I clicked on What is the Internet Society? and through All about the Internet Society found the Global connectivity Map. The map shows what parts of the world are either connected to Internet, online (but not Internet), e-mail, or not connected at all.
Papers and Presentations gave me several articles. I chose two papers on the Internet Code of Conduct and also on the Vinton G. Cerf, MCI Telecommunications Corporation, talks about the evolutionary stages of the Internet, the privatization of the WWW, and its' possibilities for the future.
The information I gathered for this week's report seemed very interesting to
me. It was presented in a clear and understandable way, and I had the
impression that especially the Guidelines for the Use of the Internet were
written for a broad audience, very easy to read. In respect to Social
Psychology I felt that it is extremely important for people to realize and
respect the "Netiquette". Moreover, we must remember that on the other end of
our line there is always a human being, although we might not be looking at it
through our screen.
