CHAIN REACTION
Things seem to go smoothly with learning the Internet. I could finally start
to see myself surfing in the Internet with more confidence and eagerness. I
knew I was going to be on the right track but it was tough to get going on. I
tried hard to ignore anxiety and negative affective domain. I just kept
working in despair. Only way to survive was to believe in my will to persist.
Eventually, things turned out exactly as I expected. I knew if I get over with
one problem, other problems would be resolved like a chain reaction. It worked
in a same manner with learning the Internet that I could learn and interpret
figures one by one like a chain reaction. Now that I become little more
comfortable with all those figures, I
still need to catch up with several figures.
MODIFICATION For this week's task, I looked over
all the
homepages from Generation 1 of Psy
409. I was very much motivated by great works they have done. I wanted
to do
a great work like them. This desire for the mastery on working with Internet
surely helped me with this week's task from the start. It took me several
hours to go through all homepages, and it was even harder to choose one to
modify. In my experience, tasks that I couldn't understand what to do were
difficult to start and put me in a chaos. However, the tasks for this week
were easy to understand what to do. I chose one with well-organized contents
and copied it into my CSS directory to modify. I tried to modify it to look
like my homepage. Then, I made a link.
COGNITIVE ABILITY Lots of positive affection
got me going for this
week's task. I think I was
feeling little bit confident so it was easier for me than any other weeks to
interpret figures. I could interpret figures in a connection to previous
tasks. There seemed to be no notable differences among the subtasks because
all the subtasks needed an ability to understand the meaning of task and apply
it with correct figures. I guess I have acquired a cognitive ability to
predict the Internet to work in a certain way. It was different from my
fossilized error that I presuppose how a certain figure might work
because it
was rather based on my experiences and knowledge, not depending on speculation.
SYSTEMATIC MANUAL I came up with an idea to
make a progression about this problem. I can begin
to write my own systematic manual for using Internet. I can just look up the
manual to make right inference to see what leads to what. I think it would be
a better idea to divide it into two parts. One part contains information about
my acquisition in affective domain,
such as ways to handle emotion and
frustration, and the other part contains information about my acquisition in
cognition, such as developing a
concept about a figure. My conclusion is that
as I experience and expand knowledge, I need to be more systematic.
