Team 5:Report for the Health Related Internet

For this week, I started my search by utilizing Metacrawler and looked up the topic of martial arts. It was my second choice to yoga, which I had done the previous week. After waiting about 5 minutes for the results (I had the brains to go to clic), Metacrawler came up with various links pertaining to martial arts. I clicked on to the link Brazilian martial arts and found a series of links and documents about the world famous Gracie family, and their deadly art of Gracie jujitsu.

Basically, these series of links talk about Gracie jujitsu -- its history, and the basics that make Gracie jujitsu what it is. Gracie jujitsu combine various martial arts into one deadly art form; it contains elements from other martial art disciplines such as aikido, judo, karate, and so forth.

According to Gracie experts, because ninety percent of all fights end up on the ground, Gracie jujitsu emphasizes various ground fighting techniques such as choke holds using arms and legs, arm bars, and so forth. One of the documents describes step by step application (including graphics), as seen from a beginners point of view. This makes the document very easy to comprehend, and gives a little sample to the reader of what Gracie jujitsu is all about.

Like yoga, martial arts involve harmony between the mind and body. It also involves a higher level of concentration and discipline. Martial arts is not for the weak minded, yet can turn weak minds into strong minds.
