For this week's task, I began by committing one of my fossilized errors- using the clic lab, yet I had no other choice because this was the only lab that I could find open on a Sunday. As usual, it was hot, and I had been assigned a good for nothing 386 which took forever to start up. Despite all this, I was able to get somewhat a lot of my work done, to my surprise. I should have, for I stayed there for six hours!

The first task I did was to was to complete some unfinished business for my psy 459 class. I had to publish my team reports, which I had did previously but didn't have time to post up. I transferred my reports from my disk to my CSS account through ftp and had no problem with that. I did all the necessary changes that need to be done such as change the format, then I checked it in Netscape. I saw some changes that needed to be made in some of the documents, so I went in to pico for the first one and made my changes. As I was finishing up, bam! my computer gave me a runtime error! I lost all the change I had made! I was so upset I was ready to bop the computer in the screen! Anticipating that this was going to happen again, I decided to abort this task and make the necessary changes at home where I wouldn't have to worry about it.

,a name="lac"> By this time I was getting those old feelings of "lacunae", yet I knew it wasn't my fault. I decided to go on to my next task, which was to change all the links I had in my documents that were local to the dot slash method. I accomplished this task easily, yet fearing the runtime error( which happened about twice as I was doing this), I saved my changes every so often. I was able to do this task for both of my classes which made me feel pretty good that I at least had one task done.

Experimenting with my home pages was my next goal. I was able to find pictures everywhere, and put them on my home pages. I feel pretty lucky to have the ability to experiment withA name="two"> two home pages by putting two different themes on each of them. For my 409 home page, I have the reggae rastarifian theme, while my 459 home page deal with various sorts of pictures, and graphics. I will continue experiment more utilizing more graphics, pictures, color schemes, and so forth.

The only other incident that gave me feelings of "lacunae" dealt with trying to get a photographic background that I found on someone else's home page onto mine. It was a unique background, which I can't begin to describe. I was baffled for days, trying to figure out how to get this file to mine! I asked the lab monitor about my dilemma and he told me the only way I was going to be able to accomplish this was to get this file through email by asking the person to send me the file. Contemplating this I did so, and to this day have not gotten a response from that particular person.

It was a good idea for you to include the home page construction kit in with all our students' links. I clicked on to that also, and found various ideas and ways to do things. It was interesting how they also include a list of sample home pages (from elementary to advanced) which I found to be very influential in my home page construction. The sample home page that really caught my eye was Rei's home page. It had a very professional like appearance, and a lot of personal graphics that I assume Rei created himself.

As far as the differences between the sub-tasks goes, it was just a matter of catching up with my assignments and finding pictures for my home page. I also made a little adjustments in my home page, such as spacing my links and experimenting with font sizes. I also tried looking for boundaries, but couldn't find any to my liking.

Concerning progression and developmental trends, I have come a long way from the beginning of the semester. I have more freedom now, and am not restricted by technical boundaries that once held me at bay in my own fears of technophobia. Going from a simple start up home page consisting of my name and links, I an able to create my little own masterpiece with two home pages at my disposal. I am also able to spice up my own documents complete with links, and a proper title that once baffled me because I couldn't find it anywhere in the gray!

As far as my future plans go, I will continue to perfect and make changes to my home page, as well as my documents. Right now, I feel that I have only one word concerning my abilities and capabilities: progression!
