This week I used, for the first time, the MetaCrawler search engine since it has the advantage of browsing through all the other search engines such as Yahoo, Lycos, Galaxy, etc. for inquiries. I wanted to survey the topic on "e-mail digests" and the MetaCrawler enlisted 25 references that were returned from several search engines. I skimmed through the various refrences and chose a link to Internet Services that my query offered and decided to concentrate on Designs. I thought that if I view several graphics or images I would be able to create links to my Home Page and fascinate my classmates with high-tech graphics. Unfortunately, the documents that I reviewed didn't fulfill my expectations since they speak to people in business or companies, trying to sell them their graphical designs.
The first document that I encountered was byGale Peterson Design for Internet and Print. This cyber-company can create simple and complex images and it also presents a sample to view. The other document that I reviewed was by Internet Image Design which runs by a Chicago firm. The company's document includes weekly case studies of successful business sites, instructions to how businesses can use the web, services that the firm performs, and its suggested rates per hour.
In sum, these documents represent a sample of the Internet's marketing and advertising companies. These services basically contribute to the business sector. Their aim is to sell artistic designs to businesses who offer their services via the net. Indeed, creative logos or graphics are often used as advertising devices in order to catch the innocent customer's attention. (This is what I was looking for in the first place - IMAGES).
***Maybe we should ask them to create a logo for our Generation Two Cybercommunity.
