Remedies for naked weeklies!
So I says to the driver, "Eh buddy, you're not the
only Coca-Cola in the desert! I'm finding another way to do this!"
Hook
up to the guide to HTML and learn how to program your own stuff.
Put out by IGR, this site goes through it with
you, providing an index from beginning to end. If you want a place to
begin, place your markers here.
Learn how to stea...uh, learn to replicate
formats to drool for.
Eternity creeping up on you? Bloodshot eyes
from frustration? How long you been there, my friend? Try
this. We know what FTP reallystands for.
You did the work. Who's
gonna see it? Get it on!
LView allows you to edit any graphic you've copied, to
your taste. At every computer on Manoa campus, it allows you to attempt
reconstructive icon surgery. G'head; you can play Cybergod
here. (For Psy 409&459 courses)

TopTen lists
that give much longer enjoyment than Letterman's. TopTen for each
categoy, plus archives and extras.
A stunning review of
everything moving at the speed of light. The best part: there are
operationally defined ratings, and categories on presentation, content,
and experience, to name a few. What's hot? Neat, neat, neat.
For "excellence in HTML design and concept", the guy may be headed for Vegas with his HP, but he's got some of the neatest stuff. A connoisseur wi
th a big old diamond.
You're Really Not as Alone as All That
Ever wonder if the rest of
the computer groups on campus consider us Lost in Cyberspace?
This link proves someone out there regards us not only as equally crazy, but
dedicates a message to us. THIS is a NetFriend...
Some days it's magic, and some days just bite.
This resolution kept me from dropping the course, after a rather fanged
week on the Net.
The
most comprehensive, irritating, Rolling on the
Floor Lauging, stuff when you don't know "why is
it...
Whaddya Want?
Are you
looking, big boy? We can hook you up...
Search engine with the
prerequsite funny name. One of the most used engines on the Net.
From the minds
of Cortez and Morita. Welcome to the Engines that Could.
Everybody's Got a Background
It's your turn to be beautiful! Download, download,
download, dahling.
The one I keep coming back to when I am in desperate need of color codes, this is a basic not to be missed.
This is a source of downloadable EVERYTHING. Terry
adds and updates constantly, and answers mail as faithfully as you want
them to be.
Over 150 downloadable backgrounds, appended every day. The
biggest archive I've seen. Also provides two ways to find backgrounds,
and these all are saved in 3 seconds or less.
This is a background strobe effect. If you want your
background to dance, flash, and generally change colors like a chameleon
with MPD, here you go.
Projects Moving
FastForward
The Fearless Leader himself, Dr. J. is a resource on all things Cyber, as well as a Topical Index you won't be leaving lonely.
The result of over 7 years of
Internet
research, CAIM was created for the Net. Look here for guides to WWW
authoring, etc. Well-organized and very logical; going forward
fast.
How's this for a site? "An International Suggestion Box
for socially innovative non-technological ideas and projects, with 1,000
pounds UK sterling awards annually for the best ideas or projects
submitted." Daydreaming? HA! Tell that teacher it does
pay.
This
is fun progression epitomized, not just another splash in the fan.

Online magazine with
excellent presentation and architecture to complement quality
information. Truly entertaining without being offensive. A must if you
are interested in quality on the Net.
I quote shamelessly: "You've
come to the right place if you're interested in Peak Performance, Stress
Reduction, Accelerated Learning, Hypnosis, Altered States of
Consciousness, Biofeedback, Light & Sound Brain Wave Synchronization,
PsychoImmunology, Cranial Electrical Stimulation, Neurotechnology,
Alternative Wellness Techniques, Meditation, Psyberdelic Entertainment,
and much more. And if you're not, read on...you will be!" Your mind
wants to be an Olympian, really. Stretch it and feel the burn.
Put out by UNC, you can take a personality inventory scored according to the Myers-Briggs, and get more informa
tion about yourself than you may want.
"The Internet's Premium Feature Magazine", it is a place to stay. This is the future face of journalism. (And I love the Humor Zone. So I'm biased. Sue me.)
I really don't know what to say, except you need to see
this for yourself. One of my favourites, bar any category.
Reviews of the best HTML editors, Gophers, FTP sites, Apps,
and more; with links to all.
A
web zine that makes me laugh and has my stomach churn all at the
same time, this is as hard as it wants to be.
En este rincon de cielo, dejo mi carino y amor.
Que marveloso! COLOQUIO, La Tauromaquia, ecetera, queridos!
Venga!
Beauty Is Its Own Excuse
The WebMuseum has
downloadable artwork, if you've got the time. Matisse, Degas,
Picasso...all the classics, plus contemporaries. You specify, and learn
about the different expressions.
Beauty is relative, okay?
Great photos: a thing of beauty, a personal Home
Page with links of high quality and aesthetic promise.
Collection going round the world, with a prominent
Egypt selection.
This I
really like. Drawback: I aged while downloading. Too beautiful to
forget; created by artists and if you're looking at Home Pages as
presentations, you'll appreciate this site.
Because life imitates art. Or something like that.
Works, biographies, and JOY! Pics of the
angst-ridden themselves. Picasso, Rothko, Jensen, Smith, Steinberg,
etc.
Placed in alphabetical order for galleries and
exhibitions, you can also browse by category. If you're traveling, this
will let you know who is where when. We recommend the Virtual
Gallery, which contains downloadable and Internet geared artwork.
Truly an interesting site.
Art on the Net is no longer scanning a classic. This
Internet art went round the world and changed as it changed hands. Truly
art of the people, a unique place, and if you're interested in social and
creative effects of the Net, come HERE.
X-Phile looking for GIFs of you-know-who and company? It's out there...
The most
wonderful thing for this half of Team Search Engine: A Search Engine for
museums online by listing, keyword search, etc.; museum FTP sites and art
discussions groups, etc; products and services by keyword search, and
MORE! YES!
He sold out; I know, but it's still a great way to see the world. A few scans, but info galore. Also a hook up to a site I know you're gonna like if you're down this far.
Just
Because I Like It Like That
By Greg Reeder, this page has links to all things Egypt,
is well-done, and satisfies all those Discovery Channel
withdrawals.
No Egyptologist (or in my case, amateur
I-Love-Those-Pointy-Thingies) should be without this puppy. Not only
academic, this is fun to read!
"Read the Ten Spamandments! Read the Tenets of the Church
of SPAM! Enjoy the Hymns and Prayers of the Church of SPAM!" Ya gotta
believe.
In a tomb that was found to
have "been built for two men to co-habit and that both shared identical
titles in the palace of King Niusere of the Fifth Dynasty: OVERSEER
OF THE MANICURISTS IN THE PALACE OF THE KING." I'm really not
kidding.
Put together by Terry Gould, this is a listing of his
buddies, and they have some quality pages. Maybe one day I'll see my name
there... hey-- it could happen!
Done by Dustin Donahue, this is a compliation of
Egyptology pages.
From the never-ending
resources of Dr. James, this set of Home Pages explores heaven, hell, and all
those things David Lynch never really got to in Twin Peaks. Where are you
headed? This perspective tells you how to determine...Fascinating discourse.
Kevin Bogan's Home Page: The Internet Coach for those of us who sat at the terminal and panicked,
Kevin is a resource for future G's.
My hero.
You've got to see this to believe it. Do these people have down-time?
