This week I tried to take a stab at trying to learn how to create an imagemap. I've looked into this previously but at that time it seemed much too complicated for me to even attempt. However, with all of the knowledge that I have acquired from taking this class, a little or a lot depending on a person's particular point of view, I think that it may be the right time to look into this subject again.

I went into lycos and typed in imagemaps and found a site called Imagemap Help Page and I clicked on it. From there I followed a link to a site called NCSA Tutorial: Imagemap. In this site was a list of what was required in order to activate the imagemap and the steps involved in creating it.

Requirements:
You must first make sure that your server has the software that can support imagemaps. NCSA HTTPd 1.5 was used in the example at the site but it was said that there were other types that could support imagemaps.

Making your imagemap.
It says tha you are supposed to save or create a gif image and then use that to create the image map. And that's really about all that I could understand. The rest of it was a little above my knowledge and understanding. Maybe I'll be able to get the hang of it some day and hopefully be able explain it in much easier.
