Section3.

This week's tasks were pretty simple. All we had to do this week was to look up our own name in Lycos and report on what we found.

There were only a few negative emotions to speak of. The first one being the fact that for some reason it was very difficult to log in from homr this week. The server seems to be very busy even at 3:00 in the morning. The second one has to do with the winsock program that we were given. This version appears to have a lot of bugs in it because several times the connection either came up garbled or wouldn't be connected even if I received an IP address. The third source of negative emotions came from t he list that appeared after the query was used. The list was very long and had links to only two sources. My Psy. 409 Home Page and the student directory to the Psy. 409 Home pages. What happend to the rest of my files?

I next tried just my first name and then just my last name but I got the same results. Hmmmm...

I thought that maybe another search engine would give me better results so I decided to use the Excite Netsearch but to my surprise, there were no matching results.

It might just possibly be that I didn't look through the list of sites as thoroughly as I could have but after looking through a couple of hundred links, out of over ten thousand, I think that most "humans" would give up and try something else. Oh well, I guess I'm not as popular as I would like to be. Darn it!

I'll try the Galaxy Search next week and I wil try to update this as soon as I can. Bye for now....
