Group report #15
For this last report of the semester, I thought I'd write about
something a little closer to home and still be pertinent to our
group's subject. What I am talking about is the University
of Hawaii, College of Engineering home page. When I first viewed
this page I was in amazement. I like the organization, the style,
the pictures, everything. From their home page, I went into their
instructions for making a home page. The general instructions
for this page talks about how to make a page on their server.
Getting the approvals, what guidelines to follow, and things like
that. The University of Hawaii, College of
Engineering home
page also has information on how to make fill-out-forms and interactive
maps.
What I thought was really interesting are the instructions on
how to make an interactive clickable map.
The thing you need to do to make this kind of map is to specify
the coordinates for the areas you want clickable. There are three
different methods of specifying coordinates: circle, poly, and
rect. All of these will allow you to make a clickable map. The
College of Engineering is working on a clickable map of the University of Hawaii at
Manoa campus map.
I am still learning how to do this and I'm practicing with it,
but I think clickable maps are terrific. They make visiting an
area so easy and fun.
Please also check Curtis' and Ryan's Reports.
