This week's task was not difficult at all. Because our assignment was to explore the Generation one files, all it took was some time and patience. There was only one basic task for this week, so I could not notice any difference in the sub tasks. What I did, instead of looking at every student's pages, I focused my attention to one student in particular, Higa.
Higa's page was well organized. First there was a link to the University of Hawaii Web Home
Page. This page has things
like campus information, news and events dealing with the University
of Hawaii, academic information, computing information, leisure,
links to other information services, fun stuff, and about UHINFO.
I looked at the list of fun stuff they had. This page has the
announcement of couples, in the ITS department, weddings. It also
has some pictures of their ceremony and reception. I thought that
this was pretty neat. You can preserve your pictures for ever.
As Dr. James said in class, your grand children and generations
after can view the pictures on the computer. Assuming that this
kind of internet is still being used.
Higa has a link to the psychology
409 syllabus, the instructor's
home page, and the homework assignments.
This is
handy
for people who are visiting the page and is unfamiliar with the
curriculum of the class.
The next thing that Higa has is the psychology 409 and psychology 459 student's home pages. A list of the lab reports from both classes, 409 and 459. And then another link to the 409 and 459 student's glossary.
Finally, Higa has a personal section which has his own weekly lab reports, his glossary, and some bookmarks he thinks that others may find interesting.
For this particular assignment, I did not notice any fossilized errors or repeated lapses. I also did not feel lacunae. I think I have become a very proficient internet surfer. I can click my mouse as well as anyone else.
I have noticed that I have progressed since the beginning of the semester. I am feeling much more comfortable using the internet. I am enjoying finding all types of information that I normally wouldn't encounter if I hadn't logged on. As I explore the internet, I realize how much information is really out there at the click of my mouse. I could spend hours and hours just surfing around and learning new things.
My conclusions for this week is that I am slightly addicted to the internet. I say slightly because I do not need to spend every minute of my free time on the internet. But when I am logged on, I can stay on for hours without getting out of my chair. My resolutions for the upcoming week is to try and have a more set plan while I'm on the internet. I find that there are so many things I want to look up that I am quite unorganized. Maybe if I have a plan I can be more efficient. Time management, that's the key.
