Well it's the first time I'm exploring the internet. It's very nerve-racking not knowing exactly what to do, where to go or how to do this internet, world wide web stuff.
Anyway, my topic for this whole semester is "non-car traffic related activities". (as if the topic couldn't be any more specific...I guess it just means I really have my work cut out for me)
The first topic I decided to explore was motorcycles. Harley Davidson's to be more precise. As a novice internet explorer I did the most obvious thing, a net search. I decided to search out Harley Davidson motorcycles also known as Hogs, anyone who's anybody in my book has to love these bikes. The sound of them roaring down the road, tearing up the asphalt, making spectators turn their heads. Besides, that I think Harley's are the coolest heavy duty piece of machinery around.
From my search I found 100 links to information about these heavenly motorcycles. Most of them covered basic manufacturer's info, parts, shows, clothing and of course lot's of pictures. I basically browsed through around 40 different links, some were more interesting than others, but none of them really talked about traffic in relationship to Harley Davidson's.
A couple of links that I thought were very informative included a Trelland's Motorcycle Reference Guide. It provides information on costs, repairs, care, and every question you could possibly think of. If you know nothing about motorcycles and want to impress your friends take a look at this and take some time to learn something. I know I have a lot to learn.
Then of course what would life be without knowing what's happening, the upcoming events and places you can meet other riders, collectors or lovers of Harley's.
Check out the Motorcycle Events Guide to see what's what and when.
If you don't fall into the category of rider, or owner, you could be a lover. Have I got the place for you. There is a Harley home in Maui. Maui Harley Davidson It's a store where you can buy T-shirts, hats, pins, clips, pictures etc. You name it, you got it. (sorry they don't sell the bikes, but everything else)
Still if none of this is quite you, everyone loves a good picture huh? Well, well, well Henry's page on the BIKETOBERFEST in Daytona Beach, Floridahas some great moments captured on film. Everyone can appreciate these.
All of these links and even some of the unmentioned were great. They were informative, interesting and had fabulous pictures. (Wish I could make my homepage look like theirs...) I know it's hard to see Harley Davidson's having a relationship to traffic psychology. (honestly I don't either) Maybe, by having pride in your mean's of transportation helps to develop a better driving mentality. If you care about your car, motorcycle, car, bike, boat or even body you become a more cautious and aware driver, especially in traffic.
