The article I am presenting this week is entitled

Car Culture: By Toyota

It's mostly an advertisement for Toyota, with information on its ABS (anti-lock braking system), the latest developments in the company, and what's coming out now. The front logo has links to certain areas that I thought would be more relevant to car culture and social pschology, but...

Where to Drive was interesting, because it detailed driving through Indiana. The file was a road trip of Indiana, and told the visitor what to see in Indiana, what these people saw, places to eat, and places to stay. At the end of the article were some people to contact for help in planning a trip like the one they took.

It was a really nice-looking page, but on the whole, it wasn't really suited for our purpose. However, we can see that there must be an audience for this page, because it exists on the Internet (or at least someone thought there was an audience). Toyota is using the Internet for a marketplace, as well as an area to take care of customer's needs. There are support phone numbers for their products, as well as details on exactly what makes their engines work.

They have links to:

and others in their lifestyles section. They are really expanding the object of a car to include an entire culture. Toyota has done in a Home Page what we do without knowing it.
