Rochelle Tactacan's Team Report, Week 13: Dangers of Alcohol Abuse
Dangers of Alcohol Abuse

I made a search on Lycos and typed in Car Crash Teen Drive and then a lo of entries came out. I clicked on Education Report in Teenage Driving. This article is very educational and quite sad story. It talks about the effects and hazardous of alcohol in driving. It also mentioned the past experience of Mercy Fowler, the victim of alcohol abuse when she let her fiancé to drive under the influence of alcohol and got into a massive car crash. From that incident, her life changes and she end up sitting in the wheelchair. Fowler gotten her courage and never give up to correct and learn from her mistakes. She does not want others to experience what she has been through. So, right now, she is a trust counselor at Jefferson Middle School in Miami and educate the students about the hazardous of alcohol. She stated that choice is really important. If something happens to you, there is no one else to blame but yourself. I believe this is true because, we are responsible for our actions in everything we do. Also, Fowler stated that respect and strengths are beneficial in our lives. She said that there are some parents who are in disputes about their child drinking and say "well at least my kid isn't taking drugs." I think in this case, some parents should respect the safety of their children and realize that alcohol can play a big difference in life and can be at stake when driving.

This article was very useful in traffic psychology because it talks about the effects of drinking and driving. We should realize that when we know someone who is drunk, we should not let him drive, instead; ask somebody else to give him a ride or call a cab. In that way, it would be safer for them and prevent any accident to occur. So, drive safely and please don't drink and drive.
