Takahashi's Non-Traffic Related Team Report: Week 4
"Non-Traffic Related Incidents"
Team #6 Report: Week
Four
Today I decided to follow up on last week's search and go deeper
into the area of bicycles. So, using Lycos I typed in "bicycle
accidents" and I got more sub-topics. Oh by the way, I type in accidents
along with the topic I want to search for because it narrows the topic
field a little better for me so that I don't get millions of sub-topics.
I do this because I know that I won't be able to search them all.
Under the sub-topic headings I found one that I found very
interesting, this was a bunch of statistics on
bicycle related accidents per million miles, per journey, etc. I guess if you
are an avid bicyclist then this would be very useful to you.
There was an incident recently about the death of a bicyclist in
the Tour de France. It was said that he was going about 55 miles per
hour when he loss control of his bicycle and crashed into a boulder and
died. It's not often that you hear about the death of a bicyclist,
however, now that the sport of bicycling is taking on a whole new
perspective I'm sure that we will be hearing a lot more from this area.
