Generation 1:

Kevin Bogan's

web page is soulless to be blunt. It's like going through a dictionary. I'd rather go through a encyclopedia with pictures which have more humor and life. It was rather dull and boring. I tried using his help files, but it's neither simple, nor helpful. He seems to be like the computer he's working on. I really don't see any personality in his web page. It's very plain. Atleast, he had a picture of his class up. That made things a little more personal. His helpfiles should of been more step by step. He does have many pathways to helpfiles and class related materials. His page is a little like a labrynth which seems to have more pathways no matter where you go. His help files are extremely extensive. His whole page seems to be help orientated. I feel no link or bond to him because he shares neither his successes or failures. It's as if he were born a computer genius lacking any shock in his "fantastic" abilities or any trials and tribulations. His own page is too much like the web itself which seems to branch out and go out forever without rhyme or rhythme. He has help files on css commands and html files. I'm going to hope that I use more colors, pictures, and icons to liven up my web. I especially love cartoons. I'm going to try help others by making step by step instructions on how to build a web page that an idiot like myself can understand. Simplicity is the most important aspect of a home page next to rthym and fluidity.
The appearance of his report three was very bland. It didn't even seem remotely pleasent or satisfactory to look at. I really hated it. There is no personality or excitement in his reports like his homepage. The content was the same. My goodness, it was as boring as all out hell. He tells each step he does! Who the hell cares about them all? He tells what he did to get software running such as unzipping, unloading, etc... I really want to know who he is! Instead, I see drab words connected in lines. I could fall asleep reading all this. The structure of his reports are awesome due to simplicity and structure by chronology. But, IT'S BORING!!! Obviously, he knows alot about computers.
His FAQ HTML is very short, simple, and concise. I actually like the appearance and structure of his reports. A grey background is always used as is black text. Such a combination is slightly hard to see. I like the content and the questions, and especially the simple answers. I wish he had more FAQs. I think I like this little HTML file because it has some personality coming out in his efforts to help others. The FAQ is of course structured by questions and answers.

Kyle Fujii's
web page is very simple and not fancy. However, it gives a sense of steady flowing while also not overwhelming me with choices. I just know where I am and where I'm going. I like the fact that he has three homepages. His simplicity is latter blown away by his diverse interests and creativity. It seems he is hiding his personality. I was blown away by his love of cartoons and his love for graphics, a clear contrast with Mr. Bogan. I loved his pics and icons. They were awesome. He had links to Letterman stuff, sports, and tv shows. He seems like a cool guy. I can see his personality shining through. Although I really liked his pages or html files. I think he could of spent more time on one or two home pages to tie in his interests, and also at the same time, keep within the perimeters of your tyrannical demands. Instead, he put in a lot of work into his pages which were each unique. I'm gonna try to keep things simple and unified, and focus my time and hard work. I realize why Kyle might have so many homepages. Having only one might not have been enough room for his creativity. Things might have gotten cramped after a while like what happened to Bogan. I don't think I should clutter up my page or pages with too much stuff which will slow down the upload time of my Wib page.
I've gone to his bland home page for his class. It is limited to a grey background and no colors except for links. Boy class restrictions really suck! He has two other home pages which I've visited often. I like the lab reports on his progress every week. They are extremely short and share common emotions and bonds with his peers. One of his problems is connecting with the CSS server. Now a days waiting is common and acceptable with so many users. He already pulls readers in by sharing irritations. I really love it cause his personality and emotions pour out. He shares his pride and confidence in himself and his growth of knowledge in computers. Do all reports in generation one look similar in appearence wise or what, gray background and black text... Aughghgh!!! The structure is separated by weeks which is really good. All his reports are either organized by chronology or topic.
Before I left, I read his last report for future generations to read. He jokingly says drop the class and get a refund. I guess the most important rule is don't procrastinate. I didn't, and I still have to work hard to finish the stuff on time. Dr. James keeps making "minor" alterations and gives a lot of "advice". I like the fact that he says he may continue making changes and actually has created his own creative home page. He puts everything in layman's terms. I like that. I also like his creative home page because it has a sport link that I recently visited and liked. What I also like about his report is that he also gives the instructor advice on how to teach the class better, a whole damn paragragh. He seemed to enjoy the class overall.

Lisa Runyan's
Wib page reeks of a diary like format. I loved it! Her page could of been more spruced up with graphics for more personality. However, she really poured out her heart in her reports. I just couldn't help, but to read a few more reports. It really shares her trails and tribulations which make it far more interesting than Bogan's Wib page. She seemed to achieve the basic requirements of assignments. I could feel her problems and troubles in her reports. I felt for her. She seems nice and her page seemed so personal. It was very easy to get around with alot of links. Her whole page seemed to go in a chronical order, step by step which is comforting. Dang, her reports were long as all heck out! Her whole home page mostly consists of reports, assignments, and homework which is not suprising at all. I hope to have a graphic web or home page that is not only heavily graphic, but personal not in just my home page but my reports. I also hope to be a little humorous, "haha!"
I've just visited her glossary file. It's quite simple, yet unlike the other glossary files there is one amusing comment about an acronym. She keeps all the descriptions short. The glossary file is a short and concise file describing internet topics and programs. It's slightly boring and of course it has a gray background and black text. I think I'm gonna check out her artistic homepage.
Lisa's home page is quite homey. There is a simple graphic of a airplane near the top. Well, she didn't change the appearence of her reports for this page. Dang, I was expecting a lot more! The artistic home page simply has a few more pictures. I've also read her her first lab report and again appears the theme of, "not procrastinating." She really goes into depth the hell and emotions she felt. Seems like she hated doing the homework sometimes and really had to use a lot of will and determination to finish the class assignments. I exploreded her week five homework, and the format or appearence is slightly different. She increased the font size and used line bourders. It looks more aesthetically pleasing I must say. She states what the homework is and what questions she must answer. I wonder why we aren't doing that? Maybe, we will latter! She uses a block form paragraph with no indentations and also astericks to point out each questions

Josephine Allen's
Wib page is extremely graphical and advanced for her generation. I get the idea she made modifications and is creating her own home page. Let me take that back. I still see her reports. Her home page makes me feel slightly spriritual. She out right claims herself to be a disciple of Jesus. I think that's great. I'm religious myself. The background gives a kind of old age look with technology trying to probe the past. She has a 2D map of the world and some nice little icons that match appropriately. Interesting, she has links to home page of the UH web and UH Carl-Library. Wow, the UH Carl link is cool! Another window opens up, and the telnet command is used. That's totally radical like her home page. The content is something I really like because the links are simple, short, and easy to understand, and there are no windy or long explainations.
I first checked out the driving stories. The first "note" or short essay displays a person's fear of driving. It is similar to my own. I am afraid of getting into an accident and hurting another person. I don't know how I could handle it, and I really don't know how drunk drivers handle it. It must be aweful. The next story is interesting. The person who wrote the second essay tells about the time he or she hit living things with the car. He or she was more sorry about hitting the deer then the person. I wonder why. The guy who the writer hit was running and just disappeared. The guy probably wasn't hit very hard. The deer story is a little more sad. The writter had to hit the deer so another person wouldn't hit his or her car. Now, that is sad, and he or she should feel guilty. I love animals cause of their "innocence." I get the idea Josephine wrote all these short stories. Josephine has a few other stories which are amusing. The background of the HTML document is gray and the text is small and black. She has an interesting way of displaying her essays by making them form in a small column so as to make his prose look longer, but I don't care cause her litle stories are pretty amusing and sad. She also only uses space to seperate things. It's kind of like a newspaper format.
Wow, her "index of Psychology 459 documents" is rather pleasing to the eye. It keeps with the theme or atmosphere of her home page, yet at the same time, it is slightly different. Her homework assignment week four is short and sweet. She mentions that she has already taken a class with Dr. James. I guess that explains why she is so advanced. She used Mosiac instead of Lynx which is a wise choice, but the wise choice now is netscape. My how technology changes rapidly in a year's time or less. I must agreee that Mosiac is easy to use, but it cost me thirty bucks cause I got internet in a box which is integrated with a lot of other useful software. I wonder what Lynx is. I've never seen it before. She uses the same background as the "index" for her reports and also uses a blue marble line for seperation. I wonder why she didn't do this for her other driving stories. There are small bullets and of course the text is black. She also uses tagging to get from one week to another quickly which is very nice. Of course, it is structured chronologically and look, she uses indentations!

Shane Akagi's
home page is rather disappointing to say the least. It's as drab as the gray background it has. He has one rainbow line braker. My comment on content? Well, I couldn't tell it apart from an Index. Atleast, I understand some of the pathways. It's organized poorly. It's the basic form for a home page. He has links to every single report directly from his home page.
His weekly reports are chronological with gray background and black text. Was there no color background before or something? He uses tags to go from week to week. All the HTML pages are very similiar. I actually found an index better than the homepage. It's more orderly and accurate. In his lab report one, he wrote that he discused with others about the self-fulfilling prophesy of drivers wanting to go fast as to not slow down traffic thereby getting into an accident. Speeding and getting into an accident will no doubt slow traffic down more. He also writes of "Schizophrenia" in the topic of driving. I find this a total surprise. He writes that it's possible that some speed because of hallucinations, personality disorders, or other mental disorders. He also makes comments of the state of mind of always being in a rush, going here going there. I wonder how many accidents are caused due to rushing to get to some destination. He also discusses the factor of sex and aggression in driving. I don't know about all this. I just drive when I have to.
I was going through his index when I glanced upon trouble shooting. I wondered what kind of problems and solutions previous generations went through, out of curiosity. He says trouble shooting was "the most emotional part of class." That's a new one for me. He also says someone almost broke into tears from "mounting problems". Is that true Dr. James? Wow! This is an interesting paragraph. I need not tell of the structure because it's all the same, block paragraphs of course. Atleast, he used line brakers and larger fonts. Hey! In one of his paragraphs, he says he " began to mentally curse the instructor for giving us such a frustrating homework." I feel like that sometimes too. He even talks about how to handle the pessimism and walking away from the computer for a little while for a brake.

Generation 2:

Cynthia Yap's
Wib page gave mixed messages. If you must know, I choose pages to explore in a random fashion. The page only held some of its former glory, alas. But, it was still pretty good. Half of the things there were, well.., not there. Some pictures and some reports were not there to my disappointment. Her page seemed to have alot of icons or graphics. Those that I saw were to my liking. She had various links. Her links seemed either business or economy orientated which made me curious. She had links to businesses, UH College of Engineering, Visitor Bureau, Walt Disney, and even the Electric Company. Why the links I ask? She had a lot of help files which were pretty good. She showed various interests. I read her group reports which have a nice amount of links to her partners' home pages. She had alot of documents on traffic psychology. The response she got in her reports from people about thier opinions were funny. She had pathways and files on the use of Netscape, HTML, home page building, 409 stuff, and driving. I realize I should try to make links to other people's home page in my class which will create more physical unity. I should also make links to search engines and areas of interest to me. This ends the report till I make additional observations another day.....
Right now, I'm adding to my report on her, and let my tell you she changed her homepage. It's a lot better. Of course, she doesn't have the restrictions we have right now. I'm visiting her report idex area and let us just say it is extremely colorful. She has two set of reports for two different classes. I've visited a few of her 409 reports and they are either not there again or very bland. Report two is in the general format, appearence, and content of the first generation HTML files. The group report two is split up into sections for people in the group who learned about and explored different topics about the net. It discusses HTML, PINE, and URL commands. The definitions are very simple, short, and to the point. There are also links to other files that help one learn commands in each students report. They also describe and define terms and cyberspace terminology.
Her reports for Psychology 459 are alot more colorful. I checked her team report seven. It is very colorful and gives off cool and gentle vibes. I happen to love any type of shade of blue. A colored background gives character to a HTML. Also, the light blue color makes it a lot easier to read text which is extremely important. There's more contrast and perception in a HTML with a light background and black text than that standard ugly gray background and black text. I'm surprised Dr. James didn't say anything about this! The structure is composed of three paragraphs and two other links that do not go back into her own home page which is great. She describes the steps taken to find information and data to her car traffic topic. She describes a link to Freewheelers, a page which tries to convince single drivers, who travel cross country, to carpool.

Ragna Borries's
Wib page seems to evolve as I go from the plain index to the blow away homepages. Links go on forever, or so it seems. I like this gal. She seems very positive. She also has some rad wall paper. I could see a lot of her interests. She however does have a lot of German related links. Of course, I don't know what kind of last name Borries is. Her whole page seems to be up beat and happy. It's very colorful. It exudes of vitality. I can feel her personality. Her optimism pours out even in her reports which really shows who she is. Too bad she only had one picture of a model friend. She seems to take seriously the job of self-evaluation. She has reports on her own state of mind and technophobia. She seems to be very self-conscious. Her analysis of other people's home page is very interesting. She seems to hold the same general feeling I have for Mr. Bogan who is almost professor like. I realize my whole page should try to capture an upbeat feeling. Everything I do and how I do it can be important to how a person feels when they enter my section of the net.
Well, I've gone to her team report for the first week. It's titled "Introduction for Team 2 Reports". Its appearance is bland meaning gray background and black text. Atleast, she bothered to have the title enlarged, and her saving grace, she put an icon on the the bottom for e-mailing her. I didn't realize this, but a simple little picture can change the atmosphere of a page. Depending on the graphics it can give an atmosphere of professionalism or a carefree attitude from the creator of an HTML file. What kind of a team is made of two members? That's to small a team! She gives in a two paragraph structure a generalization of their group's purpose. That purpose is to pretty much experience the net and learn how to use it. They also note that they should comment on their experiences. It also has e-mail access to both members of the group. One has an icon of the world and a letter and the other a smiley happy face. I love that! It has all that cute mushy girl stuff I find amusing. The other group member is Nitsa McCarthy.
I went to her "Topical Index"and it is far out! It's extremely cute and colorful. It is clearly a home page made by a female. Every link is short and simple. I don't think she has to explain anything. The wavy pink line background gives a hypnotic, peaceful feeling, kinda hippie like. It's quite mesmerizing. Almost everything is structured chronologically by week. There are very good graphics here on this topical index. Very, uhmm.. color cordinated!
I visited Ragna's comments on Bogan's report contents. Well, well, well, she has the same conclusion everyone has who visits him. Everyone would've liked it more if he put in personal thoughts and feelings of his learning experiences on the net. Unlike Ragna, I must say I didn't enjoy reading his reports. She believes that our personality and emotions should show on our reports. I actually believe our personality should show in everything we make!

Denise Tanaka's
Wib page is a little sad right now. Some of the icons or pictures are missing. I'm also wondering why she didn't use any background. This page is so unlike the nice page she has now for her Psychology 409 class. I think she let it deteriorate. She is also using a blinking sign. Why does Dr. James tend to change the rules as he goes along? She kept her reports and her home page, but placed her weekly team reports somewhere else. The only picture on her home page is a mailbox. Her index for weekly team reports looks pretty orderly and nice. She used bullets to make things more colorful. It seems her forth report describes her mailing problems, and her forth report has no title.
Her week five team report tells about the pains she went through and experienced because of the class she took. She tells about problems making links. She says she copied them (the pathways/links) exactly and they still didn't work. To me, there's only one way to make sure of the accuracy of links. Just cut and paste the link on the top of netscape tool box. That's what I think it's called. I'm surprised she had problems like me in the beginning. I assumed things would run smoothly for her. I feel like she does sometimes. I want to pound the computers at UH, not my pentuim at home of course. Unix is always down during the weekends for some stupid reason. She couldn't get the "mailto" command to work. I hate problems like this too. It seems that she like myself find it dificult to tell if the computer or software is screwed, or it's us that's made a mistake. She visited FAQs too. I wonder what it is. It seems like the other generations used vastly inferior software to surf the net.
For some reason, I had to visit week four team report because she didn't describe it at all. To me, curiosity is a better motivation to get someone to go and explore a region on the net than describing a link. Interesting, she says she didn't work too hard on her report because she was often tempted to make changes to her home page. She must of often given into that temptation. Luckily, I'm over that now. The appearence of everything such as the other HTML files are black and gray. In this report, she describes her visit to the California driving FAQ. She used the search engine Metacrawler to find this web site. I'm surprised that not all students use http://Yahoo.com which I love to search for things on the net. It seemed that she was having problems getting around the net at the time she wrote the report. I know she doesn't have this problem anymore.

Nancee Aki's
home page is mind blowing. I love that graphic Wib page. Everything melds together. The picture of the sun and earth are out of this world! She used white for a background! I'm so happy! A black text on a white background looks so clean and neat! It gives a clear sense of purpose and meaning. It's all just black and white. It seems as if some of the reports are missing or something. She has a list for search engines too! I like that. She has a lot of other links that she seems personally to be interested in. She uses a lot of colors and the blue marble line from one of Dr. James's icon directories. The impression from her page is refreshing. In her reports, she actually types out the purpose and the questions she is supposed to answer.
Oh man, she has such a lovely little index. It's just so nice and unifrom. She uses bullets and a listing technique. She also indents. Everything is clear cut like her home page. Everything is structured or catagorized by reports, links, topics, and subtopics. She also uses astericks to help create more form and structure. It's really quite simple to understand and aesthetically pleasing. In one or two words, she efficiently describes everthing.
In report one, she writes about tailgating. I'm really not sure what tailgating is. She actually visits generation one just to get an idea about the topic and idea. She analyzes other people's reports. She supports my belief that tailgating is driving really close to another car. Shane shares my own fear of getting into an accident. I wonder if we're both schizoid or something. She next summarizes and comments on the "legality, morality, and spirituality of tailgating." I just have to read the spiritual part. This topic was commented upon by Shane. Shane believes in the "goodness and abilities" of others. How naive she is. Shane is a real religious person or atleast seems so. She next describes and analyzes her own tailgating behaviors. I also checked out her Fun Stuff page. There are just a lot of links she's interested in. Her links seem rather random ranging from the Walt Disney Home Page which is awesome to theKamehameha Schools Home Page. I have to tell you, "The Kam school home page isn't all that." The Disney page is cool. It actually shows the steps taken to create a cartoon picture from drawing to coloring to finishing touches. This little corner for links is quite chaotic, but it's easy to read and the list of links are short. She uses bullets and has some great Disney graphics of the tiger from Whiney the Pooh and a great sign of the words "FUN STUFF".
I also couldn't help but read a report named "Team 6: Week 1 Report...cruzing on a HOG. I happen to love motorcycles! She went and found a web page called HOG. Hog gives calender events related to motorcycles and also information on and pictures of Harleys. She also found alot of unimportant links and a few links on Harleys such as Maui Harley Davidson which is "an authorized Harley Davidson Dealer." I checked the place out and liked some of the products such as the t-shirts and stuff. I really like Nancee's little corner on the internet. She used exceptionally large fonts on this report, and used black text and a gray background. The topic she searched for and explored was so interesting I really didn't care what the page looked like.

Braden Kato's
Wib page has a lot of student reports. His topical idex is pretty cool. Other people didn't spend too much time with their topical index to my sadness. His page is simple and everything goes in order, week by week. The writting and contents are also personal like Liza's diary like style. This person tells his trails and tribulations, errors, interests, computer problems, and also rates himself in his moods. Rating one's mood at certain times might have been homework or something. I'm beginning to feel that being open and sharing one's emotions are important to creating a positive atmosphere in which a guest will enjoy himself or herself. I will have to work on the atmosphere in my section of the net.
To tell you the truth, I had the least amount of time to add descriptions and critiques in this report on Braden Kato's home page. I wish he could of used more colors. It's the very least he could of done to spice up his HTML files. I really hate the gray background! He has a lot of icons though. A lot of them are no longer present. Now onto a report on Braden Kato's final project. In this final project report, he first defines a home page. The structure of the report is made of a multiple series of paragraphs with links. It's quite amusing. I wish he hadn't used the gray background and black text. He dictates his opinions on how a home page should be like. For example, he prefers that home pages have an acceptable or educational use, and characteristics such as clarity, quick load up time, related links, and the lack of any offensive aspects. I heavily disagree. The "information superhighway" should be unbridled and free. The Internet was once the most freest of spaces. We should be able to go a thousand miles an hour if we want to and be able to create anything and go anywhere. Now there are rules and regulations. People should be able to post anything they want. Once you start dictating what should or should not be on the net, things may go crazy.
Braden's Topical Index is boring. It has a gray background and black text. Atleast, it has a lot of links here. He also defines what the links hold or lead to in terms of context. It seems that he put tags on his reports to fascilitate movement around his home page and reports which is extremely excellent. Oh, he also has team reports at the bottom of the Wib page and organizes it alphabetically.
I visited a report in which Braden wrote about Rayson Noguchi. I assume that both of these guys are taking Psychology 409 and 459. They both probably went through a lot of pains just trying to pass both classes. An issue all three of us are interested in are exactly what happens to all our hard work and files. Can we actually keep using the CSS server for keeping our home pages. It's better to have a home page on this server because of the links already present connecting to our pages and the need for speed. Braden is a very confident and positive guy. He writes about and comments on other students' increasing skills and knowledge in internet use. The increase of other students' confidence tend to feed his own confidence. It's very uplifting. He seems to be capturing the spirit and state of mind of other fellow classmates through his report on other people's reports. The structure consists of a multiple series of paragraphs in which he summerizes his classmates's reports. I wish he put up some pictures or a graphic background, or used different colors for background and text. It's kind of dead here.......
