I hate it when someone cuts in front of you on the way to school and
doesn't even wave or thanks you. I think everytime someone does that,
you should be legally responsible to give them the finger or say, "No
Thank YOUUUU."

The daily hassles that drive me crazy are too much to even list,
but ONe that comes to mind is the slow driver in the fast lane.
I really can't understand why a person who drives under the speed
limit always ends up in the fast lane, which some may not know is
the left lane. When this incompetent driver ends up in the fast
lane and not the right lane it slows everyone who is in that lane
to slow down, and when everyone starts to pass them they still
continue on as if they never got the hint. What is wrong with
these guys? Don't they know are do they even care? Well anyways
people like that don't ever change but it sure feels great to get
it off my chest!!!!!

My daily hassel that drive me crazy is waking up in the morning for
school. I go to bed very late and have a very hard time waking up in
the morning. My first class is a language class that count attendance,
so it became a problem when I am late to class most of the time.

The worst hassle of the day is getting out of a warm bed on a cold
morning. Just knowing what you're getting up for, usually work or
school, is enough to make you want to pull the covers over your head and
prolong the weekend for just one more day.

what drives me crazy are idiots! I have a hard time being patient
with idiots. Like the other day I was trying to talk to someone who
obviously has never opened a book about the issue he was trying to
defend, I did not know how to explain to
him that he was wrong not because of opinion but simply out of knowledge.
But don't worry I am trying everyday to be better and improving so it
won't drive me crazy anymmore.

My life is filled with stressful events that occur everyday. Whether
minor or major, stress is apart of my life everyday. Here are just a few
examples of stressful things that I encounter: 1)Living in the dorm is
stressful for many reasons....when i'm trying to study for a test, there
are so many inconsiderate people who blast there radios in the middle of
the night, are singing out loud(therefore echoing into my room), and
yelling across the buildings; and what stresses me out even more, is that
the library closes early. But most of all, the thing that bugs me most
about dorming, is the fire drills that go off in the middle of the
night!!!! 2)School is another stressful thing too! Sometimes I get too
carried away in playing around, and when test time comes around, I'm all
stressed out for procratinating! Plus, the fact that I have 7:30 classes
too, doesn't help much either! Anyways, here are just a couple of
stressful events that happen in my life! But, what I can say is that
sometimes you can't prevent things from making you stressed out and other
times you can. But overall, stress is just apart of everyday life that
you have to deal with.

Stress occurs when I have to take an exam. I think waiting for my
results is more stressful though. I keep thinking of the mistakes I
might have made. I also get tired of waking my sister up every morning.
She seems to have a problem with getting up with her alarm. This becomes
irritating because if she gets up late that means we will be late for
school. Lucky for her she has a five minute grace period, but I'll be
marked tardy for my seven-thirty class. Other than that, my life is a
bowl of cherries.

When you're doing something in your computer class and it's
really hard and it's taken you days and days to figure out what
you're doing and then the computer network crashes right before
you get to save and everything you just did goes down the toliet.
I it when that happens!! :(

The following are quotes taken from papers written for a Psychology
222 class. These papers, entitled "Why Can't They Do It Another Way?"
are collected and binded together to form the Daily Round
Archives. I have selected the following because they most closely
resemble what I would consider data for my
Daily Hassles That Drives Me Crazy database.
Some of the hassles below may not exist today because they were written by
students almost 20 years ago.
When I get off of work from Zippy's, I'm usually very tired on the bus
and need to walk all the way down Dole Street to get to the Hale Aloha
dorms. (The bus drops us off on University Avenue) I could barely make
it from Zippy's to the bus stop and I have to walk down Dole Street! Also
sometimes I work overtime and get back here really late, it's especially
dangerous for a girl who walks alone. Why can't they have a bus route
through Dole Street?

On Tuesday morning I usually attempt to sleep as late as possible because
that is the only day of the week that I am not scheduled to go to school
or to work until 12:00. this morning at 7:30 I was literally shaken out
of bed by loud trucks, drilling, and men yelling, whistling, etc. Quite
upset because of this rude awakening, I drowsily walked to the kitchen
window. From this window I saw the street, which I live on, blocked by
several City and County trucks, many men who were of big stature standing
around and heavy equipment laying on the sidewalk. However, some men
were holding drills and unfortunately were drilling into the asphalt
directly in front of our house. Also it was a windy morning so heavy
dust was blowing in the direction of the living and dining room

Last October 11, 1977 I went to Ewa Beach Bank of Hawaii to cash my
check. When I arrive there was two rows of line. I saw five windows but
only three tellers are open. The other two were closed. So what I did,
I fall in line any way to see how long this will take to cash my check.
I wait almost thirty minutes before I arrive in the teller window. I
told the teller, how come the other two windows are closed and lots of
people are waiting in line. She said, that there is a certain time that
a certain teller is onduty while they are at lunch. Why can't they open
the other two windows while the line was very long during the busy
hours?

The following are things about UH that irritates me:
- I think that the whole UH system of registration should be another
way. They should adapt a computerized system to make it easier for all
the students. Why can't they do it this way?
- The amount of parking is another problem that I think should be done
another way. there should be a more fair way of distributing the
stickers to people who lives farther away than others. What they should
do is make more parking stalls to meet the demand of students needing
them.
- Why do some professors make their exams cumulative when there is a lot
to know? I think that it would be more beneficial to the student if they
could study and learn the material in more detail than trying to study
everything at once. I feel that the learning retention would be better
if it was this way.
- Since they built the university in such a damp area, why can't they
build more covered walkways so the students won't get wet?

My car mate has a problem with his course in engineering because he said
that the course is getting harder. He is in his senior year now here in
Manoa. He told me also that even though he works on it, he never finishs
all his assignment because it was a very long assignment. He said that
the only way to solve the problem is to stay at home mostly all the time,
don't go anywhere on the weekend, and just do his homework. He said it
is just like a person is asolated in one place and has no time for
recreation.
