REPORT 1

TRAVELING THROUGH G1 AND G2

INSTRUCTOR'S HOME PAGE
MY HOME PAGE

My main job was to comment on Generation 1&2 from their Home page. It became a game to me. I started to find this search very challenging because I began to get jealous and moody from their graphics, colors, and thoughful wordings on various insights they made contributions towards. It made my Home page seem to be "boring and lost in the dark". And yet, I wanted to keep continuing because my mind wanted to grasp as much as it could take.

The first three students I choose to admire was from Generation 1:

1.)Carol Alamares

Ms. Alamares has a great "Home Page" to admire. Her bold, very breif, and fast upcoming screne is easy to comprehend. The colors are a simple black and grey background. The information given was likeable to continue. She added no fancy pictures or wording. In addition, Ms. Alamares context was enjoy. For example, she mentions: My Lab Reports be prepared for laughing, crying, ranting, raving, and semi-obscene language as Carol makes her way through the wondreful world of the Internet. Not for those with weak stomaches.
This is just a taste of what her works contain. Give her sites a try. I truely feel you will be entertained as much as I was. This is my only site that I actually have a good recommendation for. I look back to Ms. Alamares information a great deal. I would like to thank her for all the help her sites was able to give me.

2.)Beverly Diaz

Ms. Diaz made a very welcoming entrance by starting off with the first word "Aloha" blinking. In addition, she had a picture of an orchid flower (that's colorful) which drawed me in to continue down the page. She worte down all her lab assignments with breif explanations next to them. I can tell Ms. Diaz had spent an immense amount of time adding her own personality to her page.
I spent one full hour traveling through all her assignments and various extra subjects she put in. I than got hooked on one topic called, What Did I Gain? It got my attention by her blunt criticism of another individuals work. She than made a contrast to another piece of work that she enjoyed called Felt So Scared by Jill Kaneshiro. I also searched through Ms. Kaneshiro's information and really enjoyed her explanations as well.

3.)Linda Wong

Ms. Wong contributed a clean and clear Home page. I really enjoyed her breif introductory of herself, by letting people know alittle about her personal background. She then states only titles on her Home page. There were no explanations after the titles which bothered me at the beginning but grew on me after awhile because it gave me momentum to continue. I wanted to find out more on her reactions to the topics she mentioned at the first, take a look at My Lab Reports. The structure was simple and yet alittle bare. I didn't see myself spending more than thirty minutes while traveling through her works. In conclusion, Ms. Wong was too simple and clean compared to the other fellow students.

The next three students I choose to admire was from Generation 2:

1.)Yoon Whan CHo

Mr. Cho had a very hard and upsetting Home page. I found the bight colors and blinking words are what had me frustated. I pressed further and gave him another chance but found the same thing. Almost every first word that started each page was blinking. My eyes were getting sore and I began a headache. In addition, I didn't feel like reading any of his sites beacuse I felt uncomfortable from the start. In conclusion, the pictures three demensional and looked like bloaches pasted on to his pages. For those reading this, "If you feel differently about Mr. Cho's Home Page. Please let me know of your opinions, because if I'm not giving him a chance that's unfair on my part. Press here if you want to let me have it, It's Okay To Tell Me.

2.)Christina Kealoha

Ms. Kealoha contributed to her Home Page with a great deal of her personality. She used characters ranging from "Panda Bears to Beauty and the Beast." Her topics were placed in a table box content with these pictures. It had no introduction which I found disturbing. It could be that I saw so many other Homepages with an introductory that I feel she should have put one in. I continued on the text that mentioned 'Welcome' on it. It took approximately five seconds for the showing. I found black lettering on a white background and my eye's began to get funny on me again.

This is where her introduction of herself began. I really didn't feel like moving on but I did. Ms. Kealoha had good explanations but the wording was close and I kept getting lost in her context. In conclusion, I didn't find it to be very helpful. I may give her another try later on. This individual I found that the Home page and the preview didn't appeal to me. The pictures were to child like. But, Ms. Kealoha's explanations of her Lab Reports were very entertaining to read. Please take a new look at Ms. Kealoha's information, and "If you feel this is unjust, let me know by, PRESSING HERE.

3.)Cynthia Yap

Ms. Yap had a interesting Home Page. Don't get to frustrated that the information doesn't come up for about eight seconds. This is the longest I had to wait for anyone's Homepage. After it finally came up, the pictures were of the character "Mickey Mouse." I like Mickey so my impatience subsided. And then, I started to read her text and I need to go through a few pages before even hooking up to one. This seemed a bit unusual for me since all the other participants had some information on the next page you end up clicking on.

Next, I began to read and found her topics a bit breif. I didn't feel any type of energy to continue. THis was the least time I ended up spending on someone's Homepage. It could be me, that I should just accept Ms. Yap's Homepage for her. I noticed that as I went on I began to compare alot, because some appearences, structure, and context caught my eye, more so than others. Basically, I feel this is unfair of me and I need to review everyone's on an individual basis. It was just hard for me because I found some to be more appealing to others and those are the one's I kept referring to inorder to add on to my appearence, structure, and context.

In conclusion, I found that the most important lessons I learned was to have a very clean, breif, and simple home page. The appearence, the structure, and the context should be each individuals main concerns. They need to realize that there will be many more students reading their sites and must remember that clarity is number one priority. I now understand why my sites are simple and to the point. I know that when individuals review my works, I want them not to get irritated with the colors, wording, or graphics. In the end, take my advice. I am sure there are a lot more that feel the same way I do!
